Atlantic Ocean

Our day started at 5am, we dropped the mooring ball at 6:45am and made the first bridge lift at 7am.  Very quickly we were out in the real ocean.  The waves were 1-2 feet and the wind was breezy.  As the day went on, the weather declined a little and we had hardy 3' waves at close intervals, which makes for an E Ticket ride. Since I get seasick, I am always a little nervous but I must be getting my sea legs because I didn't need a dramamine, I was even able to eat a little breakfast.  I used my Relief Band and that was sufficient.  I'm really liking running outside (in the open water as opposed to traveling the ICW).  You can even read a book as long as you remember to look up every page.  We found Fernandina and Oasis Marina with no trouble. We took the poodie to go potty on the grass and headed into town to explore.  It's a nice little place, very scenic. So as requested...(thanks Chrissy), we left St. Augustine, ran outside to Fernandina, 8hr run, 60 miles.

Funny t-shirt.
Fernandina Beach sunset.

Floats for crab pots.

Koi pond in town.

Old architecture.

Front & Centre, get it? ha!

Church with Castle tower.

Hole in the wall Mexican food place, really good.

Reminds me of the clock tower in Back to the Future.

Funny t-shirt. Sorry for the glare.

I guess we're on Amelia Island.

Rare nap.  Ellie is helping.

Do you think this is what Francis
Scott Key saw when he wrote the Star Spangled Banner?
Today's ride.
