Yesterday we left the marina under cloudy skies and hoped for better weather as the day progressed. We had picked out an anchorage only a few hours away, but as we had hoped, the weather improved so we kept going. We found another place to anchor and tried to put the hook down there. Boss Bobby was absent again today. He volunteered to come install our hydraulic hoses tomorrow, Saturday, his day off. Management said no overtime, doggone again. David was out on the dock and Boss Bobby came up to him, put both his hands on David’s shoulders and said, “I may have good news for you!” Boss Bobby called management and explained without anybody else here to bug him, he could come and get the hoses “knocked out”. Music to my ears!! He said he’d be here around 9am, I said, “I’ll have lemon bars ready for you”. Don’t know if he can get all the hoses installed, but we’ll keep our fingers crossed! We both did more cleaning today. I got a razor blade and scraped off some dried varnish drips that a previous, sloppy painter had smeared all over the boat when he was applying varnish to the teak rails. I moved inside and scraped the edges and corners of the floors so get them really clean. I applied a cle...
