Above our pay grade

Salon table with ceiling panels everywhere.

Looking towards galley with ceiling exposed.

Dad went to dump the garbage, Ellie impatiently waiting for him to return.

Mosquitos EVERYWHERE.

Happy Ellie.

Happy Ellie #2

Crab cakes for  dinner.  Use only one egg next time, but they were still good.

Today was labeled as project day.  I decided to go through my purchases for the kids and make a list so that Christmas stockings don’t become overly full.  I know Christmas is a long way off still but it’s more fun to start in January than to panic in December.  I started going through some of my clothes to cull out the things I don’t really wear, I didn’t get very far.  David needed help with his project.  He had bought a camera for the back deck, the same idea as a rear view mirror in your car.  Knowing we had to fish some  wires from the back deck all the way to the pilot house, we started removing light fixtures, emptying cabinets, taking ceiling panels down.  We only made it halfway when we decided this project was over our pay grade.  So we put it all back together then sat on the back deck to watch the scenery, which we should do more often.  We will simply add that project to the list of things that we’ll pay the guys in the boat yard to do. That list is growing, mostly unfun stuff that we would rather not Houdini ourselves into. I’m going to try fixing crab cakes for dinner tonight with the fresh lump crab meat I bought straight off the boat yesterday.   I bet there is, at my pace, about 3-4 hours of picking the meat out, that has to be worth at least the price I paid for a pound of it ($22/#). Ellie got her shot today for her Addison’s disease, every 28 days to keep her healthy.  She knows when we get out the bag with the syringes and cotton balls what’s coming.    She doesn’t like it but is very cooperative, when it’s done she gets goodies and David gets a Scotch.

  1. Just don't mix up the goodies and the scotch with David and Ellie. The results might be a little challenging for both of them. lol The crab cakes look good extra egg included. Can't wait to see where tomorrow takes us. Keep having fun, and relax once in a while.
