And the Mouse mocks us!

Where did this day go? We woke up to no snapping noises! Every mouse trap was as we left it last night, except for one.  The trap under the table, left untouched, had a giant mouse turd by it.  Grrrrrr.  I was digging in my sewing basket for something and when I grabbed the pins, a mouse turd came flying out with it, grrrrr.  He is taunting us!  The workmen came down to the boat this morning to install the 8 new motor mount bolts, glad we discovered that as it could have had an unhappy ending.  When they were done working, we started the big rumbler and set off to anchor in front of the marina.  After doing the Family Circus method of picking the best anchoring area, we found the perfect spot.  We dropped the anchor, used the Captain Bernie method for “you ain’t going anywhere “.   But we did, the anchor wouldn’t set and we kept drifting backwards.  We pulled the anchor up and found the anchor, I don’t know...that twisty thing was all vaklempt like it had done one time before.  Now that is not a coincidence, it’s a problem.  Off we went back to the dock to see if we could figure out how to fix it.  This is where David could explain the problem, but me??? To me it was an extra twisty thing that shouldn’t have been on there in the first place, so David removed it and got it all back together.  We cleaned up all the tools that he had pulled out of his magic toolbox (it seems to be bottomless, he just keeps pulling out the most bizarre but perfect tool for whatever the job happens to be, ha). While we were fixing the anchor, some blankety blank sailboat came in and anchored in our perfect spot.  We found another perfect spot.  As long as a hurricane doesn’t blow in tonight, the anchor should hold in the soft muck.  A beautiful day today, light breeze, it just felt comfortable, another good day in Boatland.

  1. I think the mouse has your number. I'm sure the little stowaway laughs every night while he makes his rounds. Hugs
