Fun day in Norfolk

Another beautiful weather day here in Norfolk. Most people had a sweater on but I was comfortable in shorts. We were going to tour the Wisconsin today but decided to do the Lime Scooters instead.  We downloaded the app and figured out how to make them go. We drove the scooters around close to the boat for our drivers ed.  After a few minutes, we felt confident enough to leave the marina for a tour of the neighborhood.  We rode around for about an hour and saw some fun things.  We came back to the boat, I took a little cat nap while David went over to visit another boat and got a lot of  very helpful info and tips about cruising up towards and through Maine. It was so helpful, that will save us a lot of angst trying to figure out the best routes to take.  At 3:30 we took an Uber over to the CVS to get our Covid shots, the Johnson and Johnson so with one shot we are done.  The shot wasn’t fun, but not bad either.  So far neither one of us has had any side effects, that’s good.  We changed clothes, met some friends and took the

Lion statues dressed up for July 4th.

Tour boat, today it’s full, yesterday it had only 3 passengers.

Japanese Pavilion.

Look at the size of that anchor! It’s a boat with a guiding light that can be anchored somewhere to guide ships in.

Night view.

Koi fish at the Pavilion.

The sailor, a monument to all the navy men that lost their lives while doing their duties.  Some really sad stories on the plaques.

Another night shot, this is a repeat , I think.

Koi pond at the Pavilion.

Each link in the chain is 2 .5” thick.  See the disk on the chain? It’s to keep people and mice off the ship.

This tree had the  best bark, just a beautiful site.

Bow of the Wisconsin.

Ferry across the water to go to a Mexican Restaurant that David found online.  The food was good but I think we made the waitress crazy😬.  We walked around looking at all the old architecture and landscapes and then went back to the ferry to go back to the boat. A couple of videos are of a birthday party, the ladies had choreographed a dance, fun to watch. There is a video of the paddle wheel on the Ferry Boat and a couple of me learning how to ride the scooter. Hope they will load so you can see them all.It was a definitely a good day in Boatland. Thanks for coming by.❤️

  1. Your pictures of the night views of the waterfront are spectacular. Your collection of the different pictures is going to make a great gallery wall of your adventure someday. Loved the post as always. Continue your fun. Hugs.
