 Ben is still around and chewing and pooping. We get our rat traps tomorrow, I hope it will put an end to our month long chase.  The marina has golf carts for rent, $10/hr or $40/day.  We thought it might be fun to try one for an hour to see what was in town.  The carts had governors on them so we could only go 15mph, maybe, but don’t worry we had our seat belts on, ha. It only took an hour to drive around, there was a donut place that looked amazing and crowded too, but no gluten free anythings so we just drove by.  There were some cute store fronts. One store had a flower container made from a 55 gallon drum and some corrugated roofing metal, very clever.  We came back to the boat for lunch for David.  I wasn’t ready to eat yet after the barf fest yesterday, my “guts” are so sore  it hurts to laugh or cough.  David talked to a few boaters and they gave us lots of fun places to see in Maine, really looking forward to that cooler weather.  Right now it’s 89 and 40%, less humid today than yesterday.  These poor sailboat people around us....they have to sit outside, they do have shade but no A/C, and then to rub salt in the wound, they have to listen to the water that splashes out of our boat that makes our A/C run.  I made a pillow for our bed today,  next is drapes.  Hey did everyone see the super Blood Moon last night, google says: this happens when the earth comes between the sun and the moon, blocking out the light bound for the moon and turning it a dark shade of red.  When we saw it the color was tangerine-y / peachy, just beautiful, but the camera would not record the color, but it did record the correct color in the reflection of the moon’s color in the water, what the heck!  Just FYI, the blog site is having issues, no pics tonight.     Ah, you named your little friend, how sweet. Sounds like you're growing attached to each other. lol
    You're gonna miss him when he's gone. Coming from AZ, I still insist on having AC in my house. I hope to never see another 80 degree day without it. Such better sleeping when you're cool. See ya tomorrow!

Tour of the Battleship Wisconsin

We toured the Battleship Wisconsin today.  We spent 5hours crawling around the ship and we both were in awe.  There’s too much to write about, so today you can just look at the pictures. Here goes: A Navy ship that had one gun manned by a crew of Marines.  This was the Marine emblem drawn by one of the Marine gunners when he was 19.  When he turned 85, the Navy brought him out so that he could climb up on scaffolding in 100 degrees heat.  It took him 4 days to complete the emblem being restored.  He was in heaven that the Navy had honored him with the task. This is gunpowder that is compressed into pellets, there are 256 pellets in one bag, it takes 6 bags to fire one gun one time. Highest point on the ship.  It’s basically the pilot house. Patch Day

  The Coast Guard issued a small craft wind advisory this morning.  We went anyway.  The winds were at 35knots, seas at 4' with a 2 second interval (that means every 2 seconds a 4' wave hits you).  A rule of thumb is 4' x 2 = 8, so a 4' wave should not be closer together than every 8seconds or you're going to get the crap knocked our of you.  We did get the crap knocked out of us.  I had to use another patch but, once again, it worked like a champ and Ellie had an L-Theanine .   A bouncing buoy, guessing it weighs 2000#        Bouncing boats    Writing the blog, David took a pic of how close we are to the bow of the mega yacht that's 3' off our swim step  That dark thing is their anchor   Bouillabaisse !!! and it was really good, loved the mussels   David's Captain's Platter, grouper, shrimp, scallops with garlic mashers and cheesy grits   Tropical Rum Punch, sweet but good!   Sign telling about the manatees   The marina's pet parrot   And if it&

Ruff Ruff day on the ocean

Shrimpers in the marina. Historical home, built  1740.  Built  1780. Built same time. Mom!! Me no like this ride. Painkiller. Container ship. New hat. Moon rise last night.  Ellie was so noe-vuss today.  We anticipated smooth seas but guess what.  It was the roughest day yet.  Poor Ellie stood between my legs, leaned on my shoulder and paced.  Today the big rumbler (the engine is the big rumbler, the generator is the little rumbler) was not her friend.  She normally is very at ease with the motion of the boat but it threw us around today.  We were up at 5am, left the dock at 6:20am and started clawing our way to Georgetown.  The trip started with rough water and it got worse the further we went, outgoing tides/current were a good 3knots, wind was 18-20 kn
