Quiet afternoon in Hobuckin NC

I need to follow up on our stowaway.  We got the traps set, a few have been sprung but the food is still on them.  We have found mousie poos in a couple of other places on the boat.  The hunt continues!! Anyway, we left the dock this morning about 10am, all uneventful on our part. The ginormous shrimper that left before us, first of all yelled at the people that left a couple of minutes ahead of the shrimper, Get Out of the Way!!!!!!! He was not a happy camper.  Then we saw why.  The shrimper captain had to turn his boat around 180 degrees.  I think they call it a 16 point turn, backward, forward, backward (you get the idea), 16 times and was only missing the other boats and docks by less than a foot.  It was so hairball watching him, but I would imagine he has done that maneuver too many times to count!  We pulled out after him, and off we went.  It was a Relief Band trip.  I went below to close the engine room door and took one last walk through to make sure everything was stowed safely, but in the process, the motion got me.  I laid down on the settee (sofa) and was prone for about 2 hours until both my stomach and the water calmed down. We are tied up to a shrimp boat dock where they unload and freeze their catch. There is  no water, no electricity, but good internet since there is only one other boat here and  we have all the bandwidth to ourselves.  Ellie made a friend, Harvey the Bassett Hound.  Ellie played with her Chucker frisbee and Harvey trolled for “snacks”, dog, cat, bird, you name it, he tried to eat it before his Mom caught him.  David and I commented on how quiet and peaceful this place is.  It’s known for its dark skies at night and the star watching is supposed to be phenomenal.  We will have to come back another time, cloudy skies for us

Internet😬

It is peaceful, that’s saying something nice isn’t it?

Mean Shrimper Captain that yelled at the other boats.
