Stowaway found!

 The sunrise was beautiful this morning.  I was up at 4:45am.  Just done sleeping.  I was getting caught up on a few emails when dawn began.  In my 66 years, I have rarely, and I mean rarely, seen the sun rise.  Oh, what I have been missing!  I now see why Danny gets up so early.  David got up, we had a nice cup of coffee and enjoyed a peaceful moment.  We began our leaving routine, get the radios ready, stow the water hose and electrical cord, check the engine room....and then he saw it.  Droppings. We hope mouse droppings and not rat droppings.  Then he saw the earbuds that were chewed and scattered amongst the valves, hoses and the rest of all those thingys.  There is a Piggly Wiggly near tomorrow’s marina and we will be Ubering there to pick out the perfect critter catcher.  Our stowaway has been like a  Doggy Nintendo for Ellie, she has been sniffing everywhere which suggests to me that the critter has been roaming the boat and is now trapped in the engine room.  I sent an email to my children......Wanted, Experienced Terrier with superior mousing skills.  No references needed.  Payment by PayPal or Petsmart Goodies Plan.  Start Immediately.  Both of our kids have terriers that have had their way with mice and rats.  Anyway, we left the marina a little after 9am and we were met with the weekend warriors again.  There were boats, slow boats, fast boats, big boats, even faster boats and many were driving like there were free donuts at the Donuts-Are-Us store.  Imagine being on the freeway with people cutting in and out, tailgating, passing where there really wasn’t enough room to do so with any ounce of safety. We  gotta learn to not travel on weekends.  We had birthday waffles for breakfast, had to wait 20 minutes for a bridge lift (which is not easy to stall with 2-3 knots of current pushing you around), had to go full throttle to make the swing bridge opening, and then we missed the entrance to the marina.  Oops, that was my fault, we did another circle to correct that.  This evening has been calm and enjoyable, talked to the kids and our grandson. Great way to end the day! Today we went from Southport NC to Hampstead, NC, 38 miles, 6 hours.  Hello to  Maridee Marcia Jackie Kitty Kev Grant KT LynnG

This is usually a sand bar at low tide, but at high tide it looks like a palm tree and a flagpole in the middle of the ocean.

    So glad you are watching the sunrise! It is sooo pretty! And you get a bonus to see the sunset also!
    I hope the bug bite thing is working for you, did you also try vicks? Hope those birthdays were and are great! You guys could have even been in the hospital at the same time at birth! That would have been funny! I hope you get a great mouse trap, Peanut butter was our go to for those critters!

      I was St. Joseph, he was Good Sam, still funny though, didn’t try peanut butter, we used Swiss cheese like in the cartoons then tried cream cheese. One trap was sprung but food still in it and no new poops. Maybe peanut butter will be served tomorrow! Thanks for letting me know it was you! Love, ❤️P

 Boss Bobby was absent again today.  He volunteered to come install our hydraulic hoses tomorrow, Saturday, his day off.  Management said no overtime,  doggone again.  David was out on the dock and Boss Bobby came up to him, put both his hands on David’s shoulders and said, “I may have good news for you!”  Boss Bobby called management and explained without anybody else here to bug him, he could come and get the hoses “knocked out”.  Music to my ears!!  He said he’d be here around 9am, I said, “I’ll have lemon bars ready for you”.   Don’t know if he can get all the hoses installed, but we’ll keep our fingers crossed!  We both did more cleaning today.  I got a razor blade and scraped off some dried varnish drips that a previous, sloppy painter had smeared all over the boat when he was applying varnish to the teak rails.  I moved inside and scraped the edges and corners of the floors so get them really clean.  I applied a cle...

Crabbing

 The day started out nicely.  Grant FaceTimed us, he and Harrison were hanging out at home. Grant got him to smile sooo big several times we even got to watch Daddy do Harrison’s tongue exercises  (tongue movement so everything heals correctly). The smiles were real and intentional, not just hot air came out of my butt kind of smiles!!🤪 It was so great to see them both!  I got the great idea to try my hand at crabbing, we took a chicken thigh and tied it with string to the crab trap, I thought it was pretty secure but I was wrong.  The first time we pulled the trap up, a big crab make a fast escape, the next pull we had a baby crab, the third pull we found the chicken thigh completely gone and no crab,  and one of the lines that pulls up the sides to trap the crabs inside had been chewed off. We pulled it up may more times but still no crab. But I am not giving up!  We had a squall come through the marina, we heard noise, it was lots of rain, looked u...

 We made it to Palmetto, FL.  The winds were still blowing too much, the water was still   Coast Guard departure    Jake and Harrison playing on the Ipad    We had a stowaway,  we turned him loose when we got close to shore, I didn't know how far they can fly so better safe than sorry   Our soldiers at work!!   Jake will be 14 in a few months   Harrison is 11 months rough but what a gorgeous shade of teal blue!  We only saw a few dolphin but none came to play along side of the boat.  I used the patch again and Ellie had her L-Theanine so we both tolerated the rocking' and rollin' better.  When we only had 3 hours left to go to reach the marina, we were hailed by the Coast Guard.  Oh, crimany, what did we do or not do???  We were asked to put the boat in neutral, did we have any weapons on board and may they come aboard for a safety check?  We did as asked, they pulled up beside us and came aboard. ...
