Albuquerque NM

We were so over it tired last night, we just went to bed. I even forgot to take meds which made for an unpleasant morning.  My wonderful husband gets a free pass to heaven for putting up with me sometimes. Anyway, I have some pics of the bridge across the Mississippi River and some pics of rain.  We got checked into the hotel and then turned around and left again to have dinner with Aunt Nancy.  This dear sweet lady is 90+, was my mother-in-law’s best friend from the time they started college (1950-ish) and like a second mother to David.  We haven’t seen her in a few years, she has a beautiful home near Albuquerque and we were able to get together with her and her son Michael for dinner.  Michael ordered a beer and got carded, lucky duck, what a compliment when you are 53! Good job Michael for looking so young.  We had a nice time, it was good to catch up and reminisce.  We also had a chance to FaceTime with Leslie and Jake and then with Grant, Ashley and Harrison.  The kids wanted to send their love to her, she has been a large and important part of our lives.  Just a side note, Aunt Nancy was 12th in the National Ping Pong championships last year in the 85-89 age group.  Next year’s tournament will be in Florida and she will be in the 90-95 age group.  She did tell us that in that age group the number of participants starts to dwindle and then laughed.  She is looking forward to it though.  We stopped on the way back to the hotel to get our Jake a little present.  Now off to bed, we will get to see the kids tomorrow! I am so very very excited!

Solid stream of 18 wheelers, it was amazing!

Texas, land of wind turbines.  They were everywhere!

Nancy’s front entry,  what a great house!

Duplicate pic.? Rainstorm from yesterday, there’s a car in front of us!

Aunt Nancy and David.

Screenshot of the crack in the main bridge across the Mississippi River.  It’s been closed since May 11th, engineers are trying to figure out how to fix it, bridge is closed until further notice.  Total total nightmare for anybody near there.

Looks like kudzu and it was everywhere, no bueno!

Waiting our turn to cross the 2 lane backup bridge . Miles of trucks and cars.

Mexican food for dinner.

The real, main bridge is to the left side, the Two arches .

After we had gone over the bridge, this was miles of mostly trucks waiting to go over in the opposite direction.

Sunset tonight.

    1. It was great to see her, it’s been 4 years, way to long. She has played such an enormously important role in David’s life, we all love her but she is like a Mother to him. She filled in a lot of gaps in both his childhood and adulthood ❤️
