Back in Deltaville

We had a 5 hour trip back to Deltaville,Va to get our boat repairs scheduled.  The trip started out smooth, then rough, then smoothed out and then rough again.  I basically spent the whole trip on the sofa warding off the seasickness and David had to navigate, by himself, the entire trip.  When we got to the mouth of the entrance into the marina,  there was some yahoo sailboat guy parked there, no anchor, just hanging out.  Dude! What the heck? The radio crackled on, the sailboat was hailing us....he was stuck in the mud.  At least that explains it, we offered to help but he declined as there was a house on shore that some guy came out of and offered to get his speedboat and try to help the sailboat get free.  We were about 30 feet away from him in 10’ of water.  He had the same draft as us, 5’6” so he knew he didn’t have far to go to get into deeper water.  It only took about 4-5 minutes to get him moving again. We’re waiting to see if we catch the rat to make our Phoenix plans.  If we catch it, we’ll rent a car and all drive home. If we don’t catch it, then I have a flight booked for Friday morning to fly home so I can finally see my kids.  David went to the hardware store to buy more rat traps.  He saw a sign that said “If we don’t have it, you don’t need  it”. They did have just about anything you might need.  Here’s the rat traps, tonight for dinner is dog food and crab from our dinner last night, it’s pretty whiffy.  Today we went backwards from Crisfield, MA back to Deltaville, VA, 6 hours, 39 miles.  Thanks for stopping by!

Salad fork to show how big the traps are.
