Jumped ship!

Maybe after 36 days, we think the rat may have jumped ship.  Three nights ago, it woke us up in the middle of the night scratching and clawing around in the ceiling over our bed.  David got, ummm, a little upset, jumped out of bed and pounded on the ceiling with his fist.  The noise stopped and that is the last time we have heard the rat.  But as I said a couple of days ago, the garbage bag on the back deck was chewed up.  Both of us have been on super alert for turds, I’ve vacuumed every day, dusted, picked up, moved around stuff and no sign of anything new now for 2 days.  We set minimal traps tonight since David did do one more “tear apart” looking for signs and found nothing.  Getting ready to pick up our rental car on Monday to head towards Phoenix on Tuesday morning, very, very, excited to see my family and friends.

Tearing apart the settee in the salon.

What a mess😜

  1. I hope the rat is not all you remember about your fabulous adventure, but he certainly has added to the story. Hopefully the little bugger is gone.

    1. So sorry I missed all your recent comments. Not sure why they didn’t t show up in the normal place. I thought maybe you’d gone on holiday or else got tired of nothing but rat stories. Unfortunately, when we are at the marina, Boatland is pretty mundane, cleaning and chores aren’t exactly cliffhangers. Just found out the rat is still aboard, just seems to be outside and can’t get back inside, that’s an improvement anyway. Hugs to you❤️❤️❤️
