Williamsburg Virginia

Now there’s a clunk when you turn the engine on the boat off.  Calgon take me away! Help Mr Wizard, I don’t want to be a boat owner any more! So we went to Historic Williamsburg.  There weren’t a lot of visitors today, the restaurants were all closed and only a few of the demonstrations were open but it was a cooler, overcast day and therefore, much more pleasant to wander around.  This was Ellie’s first day as a Service Dog, she was perfect, except for the ride on the bus back to the parking lot.  It scared the crap out of her…she tried to crawl into my lap, yikes.  But other than that, she did very well.  We saw the wheelwright, they make and repair wheels on anything! We saw the blacksmith and they were repairing an  axle that the wheelrights had broken last week.  That was very interesting to watch them work the bellows to stoke the fire.  The metal was red hot while they pounded on it to fix the shape.  We saw the garden where they had tobacco growing, I’ve never seen a tobacco plant and that was very cool.  The scenery, buildings, the costumes and of course the blooming crepe myrtle was everywhere and beautiful too.

Blacksmith shop.

11 mile drive into Historic Williamsburg, it looked like this all  the way.

    1. She did really well yesterday. Today there was a little boy chasing a squirrel, it was her undoing, but one bad moment did t ruin the day by any means. I guess she flunked squirrels that day in class😬
