Great day in Boatland

Oh, what a glorious day! We went for our sea trial! AND our stabilizers officially work!!! There was enough white caps to test them and our ride smoothed right out.  The sea trial was long enough for me to sneak in a quick cat nap, although my trusty napping partner, Ellie, decided to stay in the pilot house where all the action was.  Boss Bobby and Eric the Great were both aboard while we ran the boat through its maneuvers.  They did discover, for some unsolved reason, that the engine would not go up to the RPMs it should have. Full throttle should be 2750 RPMs and they could only get it to go up to 2400 RPMs.  We’re trying to get a diver out to clean the hull as that could be a reason we can’t get the speed we should be getting. We have something new to chase now.  The new electronics were a little buggy.  The new Garmin MFD (multi functional device) would shut down and restart itself, hmmm. The other bug was part of the steering.  The device that is mounted on the dashboard was being very slow (or not at all) about switching from Auto Route steering to Standby steering.  We have a remote for that piece of equipment and it would do the switching between steering modes immediately with no delays, hmmm. With tongue in cheek, I have to tell you of the water rescue we had when heading back to the marina. Boss Bobby saw something blue in the water, we tried to identify what was floating in the water.  He steered the boat along side to determine what it was. Eric the Great went outside to try and pick it up…..he managed to get it aboard, he saved that lone floating Maxwell House plastic coffee can from going to the bottom of the deep dark sea.  It will go into the landfill instead where hopefully no creature will get entangled or harmed from it.

Eric saving the coffee can.

Boss Bobby.

Eric still fixing stuff.

Eric getting ready to jump onto the dock after the sea trial.
Tonight’s sunset.

Chilean sea bass on the grill that we finally got mounting brackets for.  Super easy to use now.

We really did go out on the boat, proof😃

More proof.  It felt so nice to be going again.
