Sunday
Tomorrow is Monday and we are hoping for a good week! With the goal of leaving Deltaville soon, we drove into Yorktown, Newport News and Williamsburg to do some shopping. Yesterday, David was able to get the DVD player and TV in our stateroom working so we watched Midnight in Paris. Love that movie (almost as much as French Kiss). But he decided both the DVD player and the TV were ancient and he wanted new ones since it was so nice to watch TV with no commercials. What are the chances that a Best Buy and a Kohl’s were in the same shopping center!! David was able to get what he wanted while Ellie and I went shopping for navy blue towels. I have white towels, David blue and the guest has red. Red, white and blue, like the rest of the boat. It was too impractical (and dumb, to boot) to try and wash all the towels in the same load, so I too found what I wanted too. Perfect. We stopped at Scoots BBQ, again, love that place, and had ribs and lots of cold sweet tea on the patio under the umbrella. We then found a JoAnne Fabric store so I could get some navy blue fabric to make some more fabric boxes for our stateroom to hide the misc. stuff we put up on our shelves to make it look a little more tidy. While out and about, we drove through Old Town Yorktown to see some of the original, red brick historical buildings from the late 1700’s (1775 to 1783). It was a beautiful area. We made a stop at Wallyworld to stock up on some things. It was starting to rain with lots of scary and close lightening. By the time we got back to Gloucester (Glah-ster if you forgot how to pronounce it) the rain had eased up a bit so we stopped at Short Lane Ice Cream for a little afternoon treat, don’t miss that place if you’re near that neck of the woods!
