A day for errands

We rented a car for the day to go pick up some things. We drove the 90 minutes to Ft Lauderdale to pick up a couple of parts for something in the engine room.  Whatever it was, was spewing fluid all over, no bueno.  The small company  that had the parts we ordered is a small Mom & Pop business with, shall we say flexible hours.  We got lucky and the owner drove up, not intending to stay and also didn’t get the memo that we were driving down today to pick up our order.  But thank goodness the stars lined up and we were sitting in his parking lot trying to figure out what to do next and we were able to get the crucial pieces we needed.  While we were in Ft Lauderdale we made  a few more stops at West marine to get some fishing gear and another fishing rod, Home Depot to get Ellie some new fake grass to go potty on, CVS and Wallyworld. We also made time to go to our very favorite German restaurant.  We discovered it 5 years ago when we were going to boat shows trying to figure out what kind of boat would work for us.  While at one Trawler Fest, we were there 5 nights and had dinner at Old Heidelberg 3 of those nights and we have been there many times since then.  We made it safely back to the boat, it was bumper to bumper traffic all the way back.  It wasn’t even 5:00 traffic.  It was 6:30 and traffic was still bad.  Florida is a great place and lots of people live here.  With our dock cart full of a variety of purchases, we went past all these huge beautiful yachts all lit up at night.  One boat had his lights on at the swim step.  There must have been 50 fish swimming around his hull, big fish, 10”.  It was fun to watch them.  No pics tonight, will post those tomorrow, it’s late and I have run out of steam. G’night everyone.
