On a mooring ball tonight
My computer survived, it had something to do with some firmware that wasn't updating properly. I managed to figure it out, actually I just kept doing the same thing over and over and I got lucky and the computer finally threw in the towel, and I am back in business. I'm really glad, these Macs are spendy and I haven't had it that long. The previous one lasted over 10 years, this one is just a teenager! It's a Sunday and everybody is out enjoying their toys. It's like rush hour traffic on a Friday, and most of them are speeding and cutting in and out. We were out bopping along, looked to port and here is a really big boat going 20+ knots and he's about 30' away from us. Can you say "asshole"!!! His wake was probably about 4' high and too close for us to turn into it so it just bowled us over. Stuff on our boat went flying and really pissed us off to say the least, grrr We are on a mooring ball tonight, the wind continues to blow between 15-20knots so it's a little roll-ey tonight. It is very peaceful though, no barking dogs, nobody having a party or strolling by looking in your windows, just the waves lapping and some whistling wind. We went from Vero Beach to Jensen Beach, 30 miles and 4.5 hours. The sea temp is up to around 70 degrees, way warmer than the 36 degree water that we started with in Deltaville, VA. The wind did blow quite hard today but the temperature was cool and it was very pleasant, we opened all the windows and doors to enjoy a few last days before we get to Ft. Lauderdle and land of air conditioning. Just before we got to the mooring field, we slowed down to watch a sailboat race. There were tons of boats, David says they were 420's, sailboats. It was quite a wondrous sight. Although, I must admit I am glad I was watching the race, not racing myself....I don't like that tipping thing.
