On our way to Coinjock!!! Yay!!!

The water was still water this morning, not ICE!  We 5 ice hostages started departing at daybreak.  Painkiller, we left at 9am.  All the ice that was left was in small pieces and nothing that we had to break up with our bow, since the other 4 boats who had blazed the path before us had done a good job.  Being in the ICW one can expect smooth waters for the most part. And it was smooth, some wind which made a little bit of an impact when we got out into the middle of the ICW.  It gave us a gentle and soothing motion.  I had no nap today, I know, its one of the few times I've missed it.  I drove the boat quite a bit today, including taking it off the dock.  I love that and am looking forward to more Captain Duties. The Navy was practicing touch and goes in their fighter jets, maybe F-14's.  It is an unforgettable sight and sound.  I heard them before I saw them.  I managed to get a few good videos.  Make sure you sound is on to enjoy the full experience.   We got to Coinjock mid afternoon, got tied up and headed to the marina store to see if they still had any TOE Jam (Tangerine, Orange and Elderberry).  Its pretty tasty and it has such a fun name.  The marina restaurant requires you to pre-order your prime rib entree, they have 16oz and a 32oz size and man does it live up to its fame! We had a most excellent dinner with some new friends.  Now, to bed early, we're up at 5am for our long trip to Dowery Creek tomorrow.  With any good luck we will be at our destination before sunset!
