Overnight run from Charleston to St. Augustine
Running overnight was quite the experience, a great experience. I have tons of pics and lots of video. The weather could have not been any better, the North Atlantic Ocean was like a milkpond all 27 hours. There was no wind, no waves, no swell. It was perfect! It was a really uneventful voyage and that's a good thing! One doesn't need excitement when you're all alone in the middle of the ocean and in the dark. That sounds kinda spooky but in reality it was very peaceful. We put on some good music and took turns running the boat and sleeping. We went from Charleston, SC leaving about 8am on Friday morning and ran all night until we got to St Augustine, Florida on Saturday afternoon, 211 miles, 1 day and 2 hours, 120 gallons of fuel, ocean was never over 50' deep, water temp was 52 degrees and we used one package of Snappy Grillers and a lot of chocolate.
Leslie got to babysit Harrison tonight
More Friday sunset
If I could live anywhere in the US, St. Augustine would be my top choice, followed by Bar Harbor, Maine. St. Augustine is the perfect town. Don't miss Flagler College and the Lightner museum. Take the town tour, you won't regret it. Have fun.
