Fort Meyers Beach

This is a pretty place and the weather.....could be worse, ha. It's 82 and 52%, not as bad as it's going to be in a few weeks. We waited for the Pink Shell Hotel trolley to come by to take us into town. It's only 1/2 mile, we should have walked there, we could use the exercise. We walked out onto the pier and people watched for quite awhile, there were lots of sights to see, some better than others, ha. We found a few trinkets that were worth taking up space on the boat.  While searching for a bottle of water, David stumbled onto this little back street that had a little bit of waterfront.  He looked down into the water and there were 2 manatees, just hanging out.  I met him down there and got a few pics, no great ones but at least now I can say we've seen them.  We walked back to the boat, threw a steak on the barbie and had a great dinner.  We went down to the beach to watch the sunset.  The sand is like white flour, it felt so soft between our toes.

Ellie even got to sniff the starfish

Just a fun project to do with the little ones

I have no idea what this is.  There were several of them, they were hard, hmmm????

  Sunset last night

This morning we got up a little bit early and walked down to the beach again.  We took Ellie with us, found a place where we could let her off her leash so she could play in the water.  She had a great time sniffing everything, chasing blowing leaves, trying to bite the waves as they would break the 2" onto the sand and even did some butt-down-runs just happy to be off the boat and run around a little bit.  I picked up some pretty shells that I want to glue onto a picture frame.  Ellie had to have a bath on the back deck (there's warm water) to get the sand off but I think she figured it was worth it.
