Thursday, 4-8-21, we took a day to gather ourselves and rest, ha! We got up, waited for the bugs to go away but before the sun got too high, to wash the boat. No need to go to the gym now. When David went up to the office to pay, he ran into the guys that do the varnish work for Burr Yachts on their Fleming boats. They gave us a plan for our rails after looking at our varnish. Strip it all the way down, 3weeks for the work to be done correctly. It might be a good time to do it when we head to Phoenix to meet our brand new Grandson. The guys in the yard drove the cherry picker over to our slip and they were able to change out the dyneema (rope/line that is made out of super metal, amazing strength but light in weight) on the winch that we lower and raise the dinghy onto the boat). That is a huge project we really wanted checked off the list of safety items that needed to be addressed. We were very happy to pay someone to do this job.

We both did more cleaning today. I got a razor blade and scraped off some dried varnish drips that a previous, sloppy painter had smeared all over the boat when he was applying varnish to the teak rails. I moved inside and scraped the edges and corners of the floors so get them really clean. I applied a cle...
