Freezer oops!
We enjoyed our day off. We did a few maintenance things, cleaned the sump pump (that’s where the showers and bathroom sinks drain into, the sump pump then pumps the water overboard). It gets soap scum, shampoo and hair in it and begins to smell pretty bad. This is the second time we’ve cleaned it and then smell goes away immediately. Thank goodness! Our excitement for the day was not a fun excitement. Somehow, the breaker to the big freezer in the commissary got turned off....several days ago. That space was not smelling very fresh , shall we say. David went to get something out for dinner, opened up the freezer door and closed it very quickly. The entire contents had thawed and gone bad. We had made a Costco run in the beginning of our actual cruising, we had a lot of really nice steaks, chicken, bacon, butter and my Detweiler’s hotdogs. Not too thrilled about throwing away all that meat that I had vacuum packed into serving sizes but really ticked off that we lost our hotdogs. Detweiller’s is an Amish grocery store in Palmetto, FL and they make their own hotdogs in house, they are THE BEST I’ve ever eaten, really! I must have purchased 5-6 packages of 4 and now they are rotten, grrrr! Guess we’ll have to go back to Palmetto, just for the hot dogs! We are still on a mooring ball in Beaufort, SC. and we are waiting out a big storm, tomorrow bright and early, we leave for Charleston, SC. Hi to Anne!
Hi Pam - I had been trying to find your blog but apparently had the wrong link 😱 Anne sent me the right one yesterday so I am looking forward to catching up on your adventures! What a shame about the freezer ...
