We were up before sunrise to get ready to lift the anchor. We had a crab crawl up our anchor line the night before but he left us before we could figure out a way to catch him and eat him for dinner, his lucky day. It's a beautiful day, 80-ish degrees, 9.1 knots of wind, high wispy clouds. We made it through some pretty shallow places today. We team navigate through those, one of us drives, the other watches the waypoints and calls out course corrections. It's a good system for us. We went through a bridge, the Krogen 52 we were following had to call the bridge operator to request an opening. His snarky response was, "I'll open it when you get close enough". He did open it but he got no polite thank you from either of us that had just passed through, as is customary. If that is the most exciting thing that happens today, that's ok. We have about 90 minutes of cruising before we get to New Smyrna. We hope there is a place to anchor or pick up a mooring ball. 7:45 pm We “drove around” to try to find a place to anchor, to get a slip, to find an empty mooring ball or anyplace to call it a day. FINALLY, after 2 1/2 hours, we found a spot to anchor. The sun set with not much time to spare to end our 12 hour day.
Wrapping it up

David was out on the dock and Boss Bobby came up to him, put both his hands on David’s shoulders and said, “I may have good news for you!” Boss Bobby called management and explained without anybody else here to bug him, he could come and get the hoses “knocked out”. Music to my ears!! He said he’d be here around 9am, I said, “I’ll have lemon bars ready for you”. Don’t know if he can get all the hoses installed, but we’ll keep our fingers crossed! We both did more cleaning today. I got a razor blade and scraped off some dried varnish drips that a previous, sloppy painter had smeared all over the boat when he was applying varnish to the teak rails. I moved inside and scraped the edges and corners of the floors so get them really clean. I applied a cle...
