Zephyrus has not favored us

Zephyrus is one of the four Greek Gods of Wind. The windy weather and “too rough for me” waves have us delaying yet another day for our “North of Cape Hatteras” destination.  We were looking at 3’ waves hitting us on our beam, and with only one stabilizer working, guess who has a good chance of getting sick.  So we wait till Monday to start our trek.  Besides, on Monday there will be a slip available at Crow’s Nest Marina so we decided it was a sign from Zephyrus to delay.  David decided to clean out the lazarette, again.  It is quite jammed with all sorts of miscellaneous stuff and hard to find or get to just about everything in there. I understand his frustration, plus this time while he was rearranging everything he found a mysterious guncky liquid.  I’m not sure he figured out what it was or where it was coming from but the lazarette is now clean as a whistle!  We tackled putting new cable (actually some kind of metal that looks like rope but has incredible strength) onto the winch that hoists the dinghy out of the water and gets it back onto the boat. And of course one job turned into three.  Tomorrow we will get the dinghy back aboard then tackle replacing the cables after that.  We went to a BBQ hole in the wall kind of place, Hickory Hollow, for dinner. It was ok, but the taters au gratin were good as well as the fried corn on the cob.  They must have a chef with a sense of humor.  Tomorrow is Easter so David and I will be having spiral ham, Potatoes Trude, rolls.  There were no cranberries to be had so my very favorite dish from the Mother-in-law, cranberry and grape salad will not be on the table. I reserve the right to make my “once a year on Easter salad” another time. Happy Easter to all of you!
