This morning while David was having his coffee, he heard this funny noise.  It was the damn mouse crawling around the “baking drawer” in the galley.  He took the drawer out and put everything  on the counter.  The coconut and chocolate chips had been chewed on, I think we interrupted the feeding frenzy.  Mice are so incredibly gross!!  We left everything out on the counter, set a mouse trap baited with crab cake and left to go grocery shopping.  Ever hear of Harris Teeter grocery store? It’s a very large store with, what do you want or need? It was maybe 25,000 sqft times 2 (we took the elevator upstairs to the next 25,000 sqft that contained all the paper goods and drug store items). It was really huge and spendy , but really nice.  A Fry’s or Bashas is probably 20,000sqft for comparison.  Anyway, we found what we needed and much that we wanted. We called the marina and they paid for a cab for us to return to the boat, then met us at the street with a dock cart, hauled it down to the dock and helped us unload everything onto the boat.  Such nice kids! It was a beautiful day again, 72degrees, light breeze, no clouds so I decided to grab my IPad and sit out on the back deck.  After a few minutes, some people stopped by that David had met a few stops ago, they came by to just say hello.  We ended up going over to their boat to check out their electronics. The gal, Angela, gave me the 25Cent tour.  It was huge, 70’ and gorgeous. She had her own walk in closet, hubby had 3other hanging lockers for his things.  We exchanged stories, they were in the lock with us when that one boat did the Suez Canel maneuver, it was fun to hear everybody’s version of what happened.  We left and went to dinner in an old church from the 1800’s,  now turned into a restaurant with some other friends.  David had prime rib again, it was good, not great. I had a seafood platter that was to die for, scallops, shrimp, flounder.  We walked back to the boat, passed the Cajun Festival on the way, talked to some people that told us the Jambalaya was excellent. Tomorrow we are headed for a tour of the Battleship Wisconsin.  Looking forward to seeing that. Thanks for stopping by.

  1. What a great restaurant. I always told Lowell I'd love to buy an old church and turn it into a home. I'm thinking lots of good vibes in a church. You didn't mention if you caught the mouse. At least he has discriminating taste---chocolate and coconut! See you tomorrow.
