Wrapping it up
Boss Bobby was absent again today. He volunteered to come install our hydraulic hoses tomorrow, Saturday, his day off. Management said no overtime, doggone again. David was out on the dock and Boss Bobby came up to him, put both his hands on David’s shoulders and said, “I may have good news for you!” Boss Bobby called management and explained without anybody else here to bug him, he could come and get the hoses “knocked out”. Music to my ears!! He said he’d be here around 9am, I said, “I’ll have lemon bars ready for you”. Don’t know if he can get all the hoses installed, but we’ll keep our fingers crossed! We both did more cleaning today. I got a razor blade and scraped off some dried varnish drips that a previous, sloppy painter had smeared all over the boat when he was applying varnish to the teak rails. I moved inside and scraped the edges and corners of the floors so get them really clean. I applied a cleaner/conditioner next to the teak flooring, wow did that help! After that I detailed the galley. I stumbled onto the perfect brush to clean all the louvered doors, now that was an invaluable discovery! We also decided our heads (bathrooms) were not smelling like roses so we realized it was time to clean the sump pump (the pump that sends all the gray water overboard). It tends to collect soap scum, lint and who knows what else. It turns into a gray layer of stinky yuck. We clean all the pump parts and the collection tray, dump fresh water into it from a bucket and then pull it out with the bucket head shop vac. Mmmmm, smells like roses again.
