Atlantic City Boardwalk

We were up really early to decide whether or not to try to make the 11 hour run up to New York, technically Staten Island.  All the weather models looked really marginal, all of them were at the top of our limits of whether to travel or stay put. Doug and Dana were a split decision, David and I, as usual, agreed that it would be better to stay put another day.  As the day has progressed, staying turned out to be a really good decision, it’s not a nice weather day and the seas were rough (4’ waves every  4 seconds, can you say barf?).  We took an Uber over to the famous Boardwalk, near Hard Rock Cafe hotel and casino.  What a scene, but we have done it, glad we did it but probably once was enough. There were a lot of Kiddieland type rides and a handful of adult rides, including a 3 minute ride on a helicopter for $70.  Lots of people were lined up to take their turn.  After we had seen 30 ways to add calories to a funnel cake, a multitude of funny tshirts and eveasdropped on some pretty comical conversations with that unique Joyzee accent, we called Uber to go back to the marina.  We snacked for lunch and slept to the golf tournament David had going on the TV.  Now we’re debating going to the pool again for another afternoon of people watching.

“The Wave”

Video doesn’t capture how bad the waves are.

The helicopter ride.

Don’t remember the name of this one.

Bumper cars.

Helicopter coming back.

Helicopter landing.

The beaches were  beautiful!

$15 to play this game.

The Beach.

Many ways to add calories to a funnel cake, but I must admit they looked good!

Almost every male we see here has the same haircut as this little boy.

Leslie’s favorite arcade game!

Another Kiddie ride.

Looking down the famous Boardwalk.

Kiddie roller coaster.

The Hard Rock tram, not free by any stretch!

This is like the Eye in London.

Beach looked like so much fun!

Must be a church, a beautiful building.
