That poor man

I accosted this poor man at the swimming pool, but let me start at the beginning. We were up at 6am and on the road at 7:30. Yours truly got to take the boat off the dock again but it was a more normal marina exit.  There were actually boats I had to not hit and buoys to navigate.  So did anybody know what the picture was yesterday.  It is a boating hack, buoys are red and green.  In different situations you keep the red buoy on your port/left side and green buoy on your starboard/right.  And in other situations the rules are reversed. Being in the ICW the rules are opposite of being in the ocean, it can be very confusing.  So the boating hack is that pegged wood board that somebody thought up. You put it on the dash to remind you to keep “red right returning” or opposite, it keeps you in the channel marking the deep water.  Anyway…..it was a great day on the ocean, definitely not glass, but very doable water.  We got docked here in Atlantic City and went to explore. Just a side note, did you know there is a famous board game named Monopoly that is modeled after this town.  Since we are in the marina, we have free access to the Golden Nugget Casino and we went up to the 6th floor to the pool area. David walked ahead of me over to the railing to look at the marina and try to find our boat.  I walked up to him, put my hand lovingly on his shoulder and said to him “ geez our boat is so small you can’t even see it”.  As he turned to look at me, oh crap, it wasn’t David but a total stranger. I was horrified and burst out with “Oh my God, wrong husband”. He sorta chuckled as I apologized profusely.  He informed me he had found his boat and was watching to see if the crew was washing the boat like they were supposed to.  His boat was the first one on the dock, easy to see and also 150’ long and about 3stories tall.  No wonder he looked at me like I was off my rocker saying ours was so small.  To further my embarrassment, my dock neighbors, whom we had already met, saw us and had seen the whole incident. They were having a good laugh. After finding some lounges by the pool, in the shade we enjoyed people watching and man, they should have charged admission for the entertainment.  However, those stories are rated R.  We invited Doug and Dana, aboard Tumbleweed, that we buddy boated here with, to come down for “ docktails “.  We will connect with them in the morning to make the final decision,  based on weather,  whether or not to go to Staten Island. Today we went from Cape May to Atlantic City, 38 miles, 5 hours.

At the Golden Nugget Casino, don’t you love the glasses.  It must have been some kind of party, there were many ladies wearing them.

This is the stern of the boat that belonged to the man I  thought was David, yikes.

Another beautiful sunset.

The big boat’s  fenders were bigger than me.
