That's just boating

What a beautiful morning we woke up to.  The water is like glass, I love the reflections when it is like that.  I took Ellie up to the grass and saw the office had opened early so I popped my head in and asked them about the alligators.  Last year they had this really big gator that hung around.  He was so big they could see him from far away swimming up the channel.  He would not get up on the docks but he did enjoy the grassy areas.  Keep your dog on the leash!!  As I am more terrified of alligators than I am even of bears and I am happy to say, I didn't see Mr. Gator!  I'll take their word for it.

Another day, another issue. 😜 Let's hope it's easily solved.  I tried to start the generator this morning, it wouldn't stay on.  Captain tried it and the same thing happened for him.  Out comes the owner's manual to see if there is an obvious fix.   We decided we could run without the generator and  began the engine startup.  The engine would not start either.  Giant Yikes!  There had to be something in common with the 2 issues.  Well, after thinking it through to figure out where to start troubleshooting, David realized there was a breaker that had been turned off during repairs at Deltaville and when he turned it back on both the generator and the engine started right up.  Phew!!  David does amaze me with his knowledge and knack for fixing problems!! We continued to Georgetown, SC on an uneventful trip, maybe I should say, peaceful trip.  We got tied up and walked into town just so we could all get off the boat for a few minutes.  It's a cute little place, fun shopping, lots of restaurants and the Rice Museum (rice was grown here and was a very important piece of their economy back in the day).  We are contemplating doing an overnight run later in the week from Charleston SC to St. Augustine, FL. We would be about 30 miles offshore for about 26 hours run time and cover

 Love the red brick

 Great architecture

Pine needles are used as mulch in flower beds.  In AZ we rake that stuff up😟

 Sky reflection in the water

These are scraps of wood, painted to look like local buildings and I think they are super cute! They are just sitting on the window sill and nobody takes them.  In this day and age, that is commendable.

This building on the right in a replica of the clock tower that is pictured below.

  The clock tower

This is one building that has been painted to look like several different businesses.  There's a dog looking out the window of the pink building.

Looking down Main Street here in Georgetown

 A beautiful bay leaf tree

Alligators live here too, scary to me!

I think there were 8 people in this little boat.  They were trolling for something and that poor single engine was really working!

I loved the still water and the reflections that were made.

I thought this would be a great Texture file for my digital scrapbooking using Photoshop

 Another good texture file

Looking forward down the channel of the ICW

 Another cool reflection photo

Some beautiful homes along the ICW

The channel was quite thin in places

The wiring diagram (I think it is anyway) for the generator when it wouldn't start.  I circled in red the part David thought was the place to start troubleshooting

Leaving Osprey Marina this morning.  David took us off the dock this morning, this one was above my pay grade, ha

Climbing the ladder to go to the marina office

  Sorry, more still water reflections

 Osprey marina

about 200 miles.  The weather is looking good and the moon phase may even give us some light for the trip. Today we went from Osprey Marina near Myrtle Beach, SC to Georgetown, SC, 28 miles, 3.75 hours. It's still cool and totally overcast.  PS I haven't quite got this blog thing figured out completely, it would be nice if I could get all of the text at the top and the pics at the bottom,  Hmmm always something new to learn.
