A bit of good luck

High tide was around 9am when we left Key Largo this morning.  We waited till the water was deep enough for us to get out into the ocean.  The water was still blue and beautiful but it was quite choppy.  The wind was blowing from 12-20 knots, causing a confused sea.  There was no need for A/C, the air temp was great so we opened every window and let it blow.  We were scheduled to fuel up here in Marathon and while we were at it, could we please, please stay overnight at the fuel dock. The nice dock master took pity on us, so here we are and thrilled about it too!!  As we were maneuvering our way through the shallow entrance to the marina we saw about 30 boats anchored outside because there are just not enough slips. We got tied up and got our fuel.  It was 3.77/gallon and as soon as we were done filling, the dockhand changed the fuel price to 4.35/gallon.  Boy did we have good timing!! We saw so many dolphin today, large pods, 7 I think in one pod that came to play.  There was a manatee at the fuel dock as we pulled up.  I started shouting that there was a manatee (meaning, don't run over it!!) David thought I wanted to stop docking so I could take pictures but the dock hand loudly told me not to worry because the manatee would swim under the dock to safety, phew!!    We put the fishing line out today and by gosh the line starting squealing, I slowed the boat down while David ran to the back deck and started reeling and reeling and reeling in the line, the fish struggled and then just quit, we thought he had got off.  David finished reeling in the line, and damn, there was our first fish. It was a barracuda and he was pretty pissed off.  David used the pliers to remove the hook and off he went back into the deep (really not deep, only 10') blue sea.  Today we went from Key Largo to Marathon, 49 miles, 8 hours.  The water is around 75 degrees, the air temp is very pleasant and we had a very pretty sunset and rainbow.            PS The videos are taking 30 minutes each to upload so I will post the rest of the tomorrow when,  hopefully I will have better internet.
