Ellie was so noe-vuss today.  We anticipated smooth seas but guess what.  It was the roughest day yet.  Poor Ellie stood between my legs, leaned on my shoulder and paced.  Today the big rumbler (the engine is the big rumbler, the generator is the little rumbler) was not her friend.  She normally is very at ease with the motion of the boat but it threw us around today.  We were up at 5am, left the dock at 6:20am and started clawing our way to Georgetown.  The trip started with rough water and it got worse the further we went, outgoing tides/current were a good 3knots, wind was 18-20 knots.  We were at the top of out RPM’s, sucking fuel and going a whopping 4.5 knots for a few hours, ick!  The waterway was like weekend warriors on steroids.  There were speed boats, sailboats, fishing boats, shrimpers, a giant car carrier, a container ship, large dredging barge, an enormous tug towing a  ginormous barge that was out of commission and a cargo ship, all going in different directions at different speeds.  All the different wakes made for a very confused sea (which translates to rough). It was a dramamine day. I guess I’ve made my point about rough seas, sorry for the tirade.  We had a picture perfect docking and got all set up.  Had a great FaceTime call with 2of my BFF’s (57 years ago we all lived on the same street). David hooked up Ellie to take her into town for a stroll, knowing that gabbing with my friends would take awhile.  Sure enough, 90 mins later we had caught up.  David arrived back at the boat with a new hat, see pic. Our Phoenix roots were calling to us so we found a hole in the wall Mexican food place to satisfy our Mexican food withdrawal symptoms.  The houses along the streets were colorful and well maintained, such history right in front of our faces.  Up early again tomorrow. Thanks for coming back to read this.  Hi to Kitty Marilyn Tara and all you unknowns and anonymous, also Grant Kev Chris Marcia Boboh sp?
