Lunch with Mommy Leslie and Grandson Jake

 Have you ever waited on hold for 1hr & 38 minutes to just make an appointment to see the doctor?  I figured waiting that long on the phone would mean his appointments would be weeks out, nope, tomorrow morning at 10am. I was afraid this one could hold up our return to Boatland for at least a month, phew!  David had his crown fixed this morning, his jaw is mighty sore but the man never loses his sense of humor!  I wanted to go to PF Chang’s for lunch for their Spicy Chicken (gluten free). I’ve missed any kind of Chinese food.  Leslie and Jake came along and Jake cracked us up for over an hour telling stories and making jokes. He was on fire today, ha!  It was so good to see him relaxed, he takes school very seriously so being off for summer has given him a chance to catch his breath.  We had a fun day! Hello to Jackie, Kitty, Marilyn, Mother, Kev, Granty, Tara, Anne, Pris, Aunt Nancy, Michael, Stan, Marcia, Chris, Bobo and all the rest of you that continue to stop by.  We should be back on the boat soon we hope!❤️❤️

Tour of the Battleship Wisconsin

We toured the Battleship Wisconsin today.  We spent 5hours crawling around the ship and we both were in awe.  There’s too much to write about, so today you can just look at the pictures. Here goes: A Navy ship that had one gun manned by a crew of Marines.  This was the Marine emblem drawn by one of the Marine gunners when he was 19.  When he turned 85, the Navy brought him out so that he could climb up on scaffolding in 100 degrees heat.  It took him 4 days to complete the emblem being restored.  He was in heaven that the Navy had honored him with the task. This is gunpowder that is compressed into pellets, there are 256 pellets in one bag, it takes 6 bags to fire one gun one time. Highest point on the ship.  It’s basically the pilot house. Patch Day

  The Coast Guard issued a small craft wind advisory this morning.  We went anyway.  The winds were at 35knots, seas at 4' with a 2 second interval (that means every 2 seconds a 4' wave hits you).  A rule of thumb is 4' x 2 = 8, so a 4' wave should not be closer together than every 8seconds or you're going to get the crap knocked our of you.  We did get the crap knocked out of us.  I had to use another patch but, once again, it worked like a champ and Ellie had an L-Theanine .   A bouncing buoy, guessing it weighs 2000#        Bouncing boats    Writing the blog, David took a pic of how close we are to the bow of the mega yacht that's 3' off our swim step  That dark thing is their anchor   Bouillabaisse !!! and it was really good, loved the mussels   David's Captain's Platter, grouper, shrimp, scallops with garlic mashers and cheesy grits   Tropical Rum Punch, sweet but good!   Sign telling about the manatees   The marina's pet parrot   And if it&

Ruff Ruff day on the ocean

Shrimpers in the marina. Historical home, built  1740.  Built  1780. Built same time. Mom!! Me no like this ride. Painkiller. Container ship. New hat. Built 1740 by a Babtist preacher that spread his religion along the East  Coast. Magnolia tree for Kitty. The last magnolia bloom.  Beautiful.. . Can you say traffic!! Moon set. Beautiful. Babtist preachers home. Sunrise this morning. Moon rise last night.  Ellie was so noe-vuss today.  We anticipated smooth seas but guess what.  It was the roughest day yet.  Poor Ellie stood between my legs, leaned on my shoulder and paced.  Today the big rumbler (the engine is the big rumbler, the generator is the little rumbler) was not her friend.  She normally is very at ease with the motion of the boat but it threw us around today.  We were up at 5am, left the dock at 6:20am and started clawing our way to Georgetown.  The trip started with rough water and it got worse the further we went, outgoing tides/current were a good 3knots, wind was 18-20 kn
