Scratching the repairs off the list

Here are a few repairs we’ve done.

1.  Updated some electronics so they communicate and stop arguing amongst themselves.  This should prevent the GPS going out ever again, yikes that was a scary day.

2.  Changed out the sanitary lines.  All the smelly hoses from sinks, showers and toilets now smell like new baby dolls at Christmas.

3.  Added a cruising alternator so we don’t have to run the generator under way to charge all the batteries.

4.  Added underwater lights off the back deck. This was just for fun.

5.  Installed a camera on the back deck so we can see boating traffic behind us.  You don’t want to be Mr. Magoo on the water.

6.  Replaced the hoses on the back deck shower, they were leaking all our fresh water into the lazarette, a potentially very dangerous situation.

7.  Replaced the hoses on the bow faucet because they were rotting.

8.  Put in a new water pump so every time you turned water on anywhere you didn’t have to turn the breaker off to make the pump stop pumping.

9.  Repaired a hatch cover on the bow, it was simply falling apart.

10.  Upgraded the stereo system, just because we like music.

11.  Installed a new macerater pump, it flat out died.  That means no flushing of the toilets.

12.  Installed a new Garmin MFD, moved the old one to the flybridge.  The MFD (multi function display) will run and monitor a lot of systems on the boat, you can even play the stereo through it.

13.  Replaced all the motor mount bolts.  1 was broken off, 2 were loose, last one was working but for how long.  Good idea to keep the engine where it is supposed to be.

14.  Installed a new battery monitor for the house bank of batteries. Nice to know your instruments  will work, engine will start, generator will start, bilge pumps will work, that kind of thing.

15.  Repaired the bow roller for the anchor so it will actually set when trying to use it.

16.  Fixed (I hope) the air conditioning in the salon.

17.  Repaired the air conditioning in the master stateroom.

And the one thing that we came here for was to fix the stabilizer, they’re still trying to figure it out but they found the hydraulic fluid in it was dark and smelled burnt, it also appeared to have  little pieces of the hydraulic hoses that are possibly deteriorating in it.  They’ll drain and flush the systems and put new hoses on. We hope that will fix it!  So this is what we’ve been doing the last 7-8 weeks here in Deltaville.  Hopefully soon we will head to Maine, land of lobsters!
