Nancy's Secret Garden

Today's adventure was Nancy Forrester's Secret Garden. She rescues, re-homes and trains parrots.   You walk into her backyard, put your $10 in her fishbowl and wander around.  We happened to arrive when she had begun talking already.  She had "Baby Blue", a big and beautiful hyacinth macaw.  She put him onto a big round plastic table.  He had been trained to stay on the table and and 8 observers were asked to sit back in our chairs.  If Baby saw something that interested him and you were sitting close enough, he would try to take it.  She has taught him several skills, he could dance, head bob, wave, stretch his wings, hop on the table, and some of his colors.  Apparently, she reads them books and they have their favorites.  At Halloween, she read them a book with orange pumpkins, the birds loved the pumpkins.  They know the difference between a real pumpkin and a picture of a pumpkin.  One of the birds wanted to touch the book over and over.  She asks them what they want for breakfast, then they touch the picture of scrambled eggs and apple.  Miss Nancy took Baby back into the house and returned with 2 cockatoos, Molly and Mr. Peaches, both males.  They talked, danced and laughed, very, very loudly.  Molly did not like men! We all thoroughly enjoyed her talk and demonstrations

We went for lunch and did a little shopping.  One stop was at Kermit's Key Lime Pie house.  They had a gluten free version, we decided to have a taste test.  Now we will have eaten 3 entire pies in 4 days, ha. No wonder our shorts are getting tight!  Well, let's see how bad the internet is tonight, it takes FOREVER to upload pictures, forget videos!
